Registrations are now open for the conference “Culture for shared, smart, innovative territories: towards 2020 European Regional Development” which will be held in Community of Oleśnica, Poland on October 27th and 28th, 2016.
What are the ongoing transformations within European regions? What reorganizations are to be imagined at a local, European or global scale, to contribute to resilient and sustainable territories and tackle today’s challenges? What role may cultural stakeholders play?
The conference, organized in partnership with ECoC Wroclaw 2016, Community Culture Center of Oleśnica and ENCC, will be structured around four topics:
- Urban and rural territories: cultural practices for synergies
- Territories as ‘commons’: strategies for citizens empowerment
- Creative territories: sustaining imagination and capacities
- Economic models for smart territories: fostering entrepreneurship and new business models
Using open space methodology, each strand aims to allow debate and knowledge/practices sharing between a diversity of local and European stakeholders – Culture and civil society, researchers, activist, local authority and institutions representatives. The outcome will be a Manifesto on the contribution of culture to territorial development. The meeting will also aim at sustaining cooperation and networking in the local territory of lower Silesia and in Poland, in connection with European stakeholders.
