Discussion and negotiations are starting at the European level concerning the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). In the context of pressure from national governments to respond to the departure of Great Britain with budget cuts, we, the cultural sector, must act to ensure that funding for culture is not affected by those cuts. The European Alliance for Culture and the Arts, of which the ENCC is a member, has published a statement on the next MMF, arguing for “a long-term, considerable and balanced funding of the cultural and arts sector at the EU level, allowing for sustainable development and ensuring their crucial role in the revitalisation of Europe”. Please join us in sending this statement to your national contacts and to your partners.
We also strongly recommend you participate in the consultation on the Multiannual Financial Framework published by the European Commission. The cultural sector is included in the target group for the consultation on EU funds in the area of values and mobility.
The deadline for contribution is 8 March 2018.
